Facebook comments just got a lot more 'like'-able

Facebook comments just got a lot more 'like'-able

Filed under: Web services, Social Software

Facebook's universal "like" button is all over the web, but until today, there were still some important things on Facebook itself that you couldn't like: people's comments! That just changed, though, because there's now a "like" button on every comment. You may already be getting notifications that people have liked old comments you've made -- in fact, that's how I noticed the feature.

This is an interesting move for Facebook. I'm trying to see where the money-making angle is in all of this, and how Facebook could potentially sell this new data (maybe by tracking which keywords in comments get the most likes?), but maybe I'm too cynical. This could just be a feature that Facebook implemented because users wanted it.

What do you think, DLS readers? Do you like liking comments, or is it just more useless notification spam?
