In all likelihood, the plug-in will function like the RDP or VNC apps most of us are familiar with, allowing access to applications on a server or remote desktop via LAN or WAN connections. When news of Chromoting first broke, there were a lot of "So I have to leave my Windows computer running to use the programs on it?" which is, of course, the case.
But Chromoting probably isn't targeted at the average home user. It's aimed at enterprise use, where terminal services and applications served over remote connections are much more common.
Thanks for the tip, guao!
