Google is well known for creating new trends as well as staying on top of current ones. With popularity rising more each day for the iPad as well as other mobile devices Google felt it was fitting to optimize their free Gmail service in order to make it easier to compose and send email.
The new Gmail for the iPad works flawlessly in either portrait or landscape mode. Scrolling has been improved for the device and newly composed messages now pop up in the center of the screen. Before signing in, Google automatically detects if Safari is being used as well as other account preferences.
This latest update from Google is limited to US English at this time but it’s expected that more languages as well as other tablet devices will be supported at some point soon using HTML5.
