If you've been watching the World Cup, you've probably noticed the vuvuzela by now. It's a type of horn that tons of fans in the World Cup stands are blowing, and it produces that incessant buzzing noise you hear during the matches. Whether you think it's annoying or a great way to show some spirit for your favorite football team [really? -Ed], the vuvuzela is probably not going anywhere, so you may as well embrace it with a vuvuzela app for your mobile device.
iPhone users can check out the iVuvuzela app, which is free and lets you set the colors of your virtual horn. Its description in the App Store claims it's the #1 free app in Argentina, Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, the UK and South Africa. Impressive! If you'd rather blow into your phone instead of pushing buttons, there's also the Vuvuzela World Cup app. You pick a team and blow into the microphone, and you can even take turns against an opponent to see who's got the most horn-blowing team spirit. That one is 99 cents.
On the Android side, check out Virtual Vuvuzela. It has an iPhone version, too, and claims to be the loudest of the vuvuzela mobile apps out there. There are plenty more in the Android market, but this is the one people seem to be ... uh, buzzing about.
