While GeoHot is no longer working on the unlock for iPhone 4, the infamous iPhone Dev team continues to figure out an unlock solution. After weeks of hard work, planetbeing, a member from the team, just announced (via Twitter) that the iPhone 4 has been unlocked!
Looks like I now have an unlocked iPhone 4.
My soft-unlocked iPhone 4 (in Canada). I’ll have video in a couple of hours once I can top-up the SIM.
Congratulation to the team! It’s so glad to hear this news.
The team does not mention anything about the release date for unlock tool. However, it shouldn’t be too far away from the general release. I will expect an updated version of ultrasn0w will be released soon to support the unlock on iPhone 4.
