Pre-sale starts online Oct. 10; phone is NFC-capable
T-Mobile this afternoon announced the HTC Amaze 4G (aka the HTC Ruby) -- a 4.3-inch powerhouse that will run on TMo's HSPA+ 42Mbps 4G network. In addition to the aforementioned display (which is a Super LCD at qHD resolution), the Amaze 4G has a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor pushing Android 2.3.4 and HTC Sense (with T-Mobile TV and HTC Watch thrown in for good measure). Add in the excellent camera hardware and software we first saw in the MyTouch 4G Slide, and this one is sure to attract a bit of attention.
Not enough power? The Amaze 4G also sports NFC (near field communication) for mobile payments, tags and the like, making it only one of a few handsets with the feature. (T-Mobile's Nexus S is another.)
The HTC Amaze 4G will be available for pre-sale starting Oct. 10, and in stores Oct. 12. It'll cost $259.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract. Full press release is after the break.
