Transmedia has introduced the new Glide OS 4.0, a cloud-based operating system that is ad-free, full of great productivity apps and best of all is compatible with the Apple iPad.

It has great syncing capabilities and runs right from your iPad’s browser. It operates like an online mobile desktop. With Glide OS you can share files with your mobile devices that are created from your home or office computer or laptop.

Some of the built-in features, such as the calendar for example, do not function on the iPad yet but this is only temporary. Soon all of the apps and features will run smoothly on the iPad.

One feature many iPad owners will find convenient is the fact that this HTML5 based OS has the ability to convert Flash Video files (FLV) as well as Windows Media Video (WMV) instantly.

The latest version of Glide OS comes bundled with useful apps that also enable you to work on spreadsheets and word processing documents. Using the cloud service you can also import your contacts and calendar.

Do you want to create private discussion groups? Glide can do that too. In fact there’s not a whole lot this OS can’t do and it’s getting great reviews so far from major companies such as PC Magazine, CNET and eWeek to name a few.

You can register for free, begin enjoying the collaboration and productivity apps right away as well as get 30GB of free storage space. Or, if you’d like for only $50 USD per year you can get 250GB of storage space an up your allowed users from 6 to 25.

Visit the Glide OS website to find out more.
