History has never been my cup of tea. With all those names and dates, it would be the hardest subject for anyone to master I think. Today, I find one interesting iPhone app that lets users refresh their knowledge in History.

Today in History is a handy history tool that could list all the historical significance for any particular date. After launching this app, it opens the home screen with the list of events that happened on the particular day. The descriptions are short, clear and to the point. With the navigation arrow and the date button, the top bar lets the users easily change the date.

If a user wants to know more about any particular event, he can get it just by tapping on it. They can find it with the related Wikipedia links. They can also post comments about that event, share it in social media, mail it to friends or add it to their favorites, just like bookmarking. Yes, it works almost as a web page. Quite smart, isn’t it?

Apart from Events, Today in History has two exclusive sections – Births and Deaths to list the celebrities who were born or died on that particular date. I can find most of the important events listed in this app. However, if users find any events missing, they can submit it through My Events. They can also make some private entries to share them only with friends.

I think Today in History is a very good attempt by developers and this app would be a helpful one for students. This reference guide can be a whole lot of fun to History lovers as it is loaded with more than 100,000 events. This app is compatible with iPhones and iPads running iOS 4.0 or later.
