When altering an image, it is normally subjected to photo manipulation software. It will only look like an abstract painting after adding and tweaking several layers of effects, which should take a while for beginners. Artify shortens that process. Upon installation, the iPhone application helps you form abstract photos in an instant, without the need to port images over to your computer.

Artify is the ideal image manipulating application for those who want to add at least a touch of impressionism on their photos. With a single push of a button, an image will sudden look like an impressionist painting, with the contours blurred and the colors slightly overlapping, for posterity’s sake.

The application, as it appears, is made by people who know a thing or two about photo manipulation. Once ”artified,” the resulting photo is crisply altered. It should be ready for posting on any of your social networking accounts. If, however, you’re not satisfied with the results, you can use the app’s tools for manual manipulation, such as the painting tool and modifiers for color, contrast and sharpness.

You can tweak an image to your liking using the iPhone application, but unless you want something impressionistic, it will require at least a little effort on your part. People well versed with the Adobe Photoshop, Gimp and other photo manipulation programs will have little trouble applying the tools and effects. Novices, on the other hand, will have to get accustomed to the settings.

Like most apps, Artify offers direct linking to Facebook and Twitter. Any photo run through the iPhone application can be posted with ease, for a much needed switch of profile pictures.

Artify is built to make even badly shot photos look interesting, and all you need to do is hit the “Artify” button. If you’re not too particular with the tiny details, you’d surely love this iPhone application. It shouldn’t take long before you have created impressionist photos of all of your close friends.

As for compatibility, Artify works on the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. It needs at least iOS 3.1 to run smoothly. You can grab this application by checking out this link.
