Part of the reasons why people have an irresistible urge in purchasing their own iPad is all about experiencing all the apps, or applications, that the company has to offer. From games, social networking sites, web browsers, calculators, video capturing systems, audio recording software, picture editing programs, and GPS functions, people could not seem to get enough of Apple’s famed product. In terms of music, many of these owners have noticed a familiar program called Universal Music DJ. It is a music editing software, but compared to other programs of the same function, how does this single package compare?
Developed by Anuman Interactive, Universal Music DJ for the iPad is a music application that allows its users to mix their chosen tunes, sounds, audio samples, or full songs however they want and in wherever they want. To further elaborate, the program allows users to mix, remix, playback, or share their favorite songs in their playlists uploaded from their iTunes. Aside from those songs in people’s iTunes, there are other songs that are included in the system that could be sampled by users: Eric My Bed Is A Dancefloor by Carter, Mon Idéal by Neg’ Marrons, Other City and The Way to Love by Tom Snare, Le Cirque by Chris Garcia, Trust You Again by the Muttonheads, Sometime by Dim Chris, Laisse Tomber Tes Problèmes by Collectif Métissé, Before You Go by Mathieu Bouthier, Regrets by Teo Moss, and Are You Ready by Laurent Pepper. The software has numerous features, which include: two CD plates for pitch bending, two turntables for scratching, fader functions, automatic detection of uploaded songs, iTunes library direct access, flanger, bass boost, reverb, echo, fade, tap tempo, Auto-Synch, BPM button for adjustments, equalizer, recorder, and many more functions.
With all of the features of this DJ software, users are given a wide variety of functions to create their sound under the convenience their own iPad. In other words, all these mixing functions are already available in just a few Megabytes of space in their iPad, which is not a problem to bring anywhere. The functions like the audio filters are a nice addition, and with all these functions, users may dial in high-quality samples in thousands of ways. However, one thing that puts this product down a notch is the steep learning curve required to learn the software and the numerous confusing buttons on the interface.
Despite its own small flaws, Universal Music DJ for the iPad is a recommended music application for bona fide audiophiles and amateur DJs alike.
