Facebook does a Mashup with MySpace, syncs 'likes' across services

Facebook does a Mashup with MySpace, syncs 'likes' across services
Facebook and MySpace held a joint event today to announce MySpace's new Mashup with Facebook feature, which can sync all of your Facebook "likes" to MySpace in one click. MySpace will be getting Facebook like buttons, rolling out across the service starting today. Interests on MySpace will also be linked to relevant interests on Facebook, and MySpace will use your Facebook data to recommend content for you.

If you're a MySpace rebel who wants to resist Facebook's empire, all is not lost. Users will be able to opt into Mashup, so you don't have to commingle your Facebook and MySpace likes and interests if you don't want to. MySpace isn't dead or being bought out by Facebook, and CEO Mike Jones says that the site's new redesign has increased traffic and received a positive response from users.
