Plenty of websites are adding drag-and-drop uploading functionality these days, but there are still some that make you manually browse for a file you want to upload. Firefox users can take matters into their own hands with Dragdropupload, an add-on that bypasses that annoying "browse" or "choose file" button and lets you drop files directly onto an upload field. With Dragdropupload installed, you can still click browse if you want to, but simply dragging your file to the button should do the trick.
Dragdropupload has a few additional tricks, too. You can drop a text snippet, and the add-on will automatically generate and upload a temporary text file. On sites that allow more than one upload at a time, you can keep dropping files until you fill all your upload slots. There's also a sidebar where you can browse your hard drive for files without opening an additional window.
Dragdropupload seems to work on most sites, but it has issues with Google Docs and some other sites that already support drag-and-drop. Some drag-drop-enabled services, like Facebook and Gmail, work with no conflicts.
[Chrome users, check out drag2up for the same kind of functionality -Ed]
